PODCAST: Taking Journalism to the Stage with Terry Moran and Brian James Polak

As part of Door Kinetic Arts Festival in September I had the good fortune of dramaturging Terry Moran's play "The Bagdad Gentlemen's Club" which he wrote based on his experiences and people he knew during the war in Iraq.

I knew who Terry was due to his years of high profile journalism however I expected this famous journalist to lack the ability to write a play. I could not have been more wrong.

In the midst of the workshop process, Terry and I had the opportunity to discuss our work on his play in front of an audience moderated by Myles Dannhausen Jr. of Door County Pulse. Our conversation covered the creative process, making art in the era through which we are living, and the importance of The Kennedy Center to our culture.
